General Terms and Conditions for Balloon Rides
1. The purchase of a hot air balloon ride is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The person who purchased the flight, or who received a voucher or invitation, must contact Globos Boreal with sufficient advance notice to schedule the flight within this period. If no date is scheduled and the flight is not carried out within the 12-month validity period, Globos Boreal may consider the flight completed and consumed, with no right to a refund.
2. Globos Boreal does not offer refunds for hot air balloon rides (unless agreed otherwise and in writing before the purchase). During the validity period (12 months), the reservation or voucher may be transferred to another person, provided that Globos Boreal is notified in advance.
3. By default, hot air balloon rides are conducted in shared baskets with other passengers. Private or exclusive flights will only be operated if expressly contracted during the purchase process or previously agreed in writing with Globos Boreal.
4. Date changes are not permitted with less than 7 days’ notice, except in cases of duly justified force majeure. If the passenger requests a change outside this period or fails to appear on the scheduled date, Globos Boreal may consider the flight completed, with no possibility of rescheduling or refund.
5. The meeting time at the take-off location is always at sunrise, the optimal time for flying before thermal currents develop. Punctuality is essential: once the balloon is inflated, the departure time cannot be delayed. Globos Boreal allows a 5-minute grace period; if the passenger arrives later or does not appear, the flight will be considered completed.
6. Passengers are advised to wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the season, sports shoes (high heels are not permitted), and a cap or hat to protect from the heat of the burner.
7. The approximate duration of the flight, from take-off, is 45 minutes. After this time, the pilot will look for a suitable landing area. Following landing, a celebration with cava, some snacks, and diploma presentation will take place, after which passengers will be transported by support vehicles back to the original take-off point.
8. The total duration of the activity is approximately 3 to 4 hours, including balloon inflation, take-off, flight, landing, post-flight celebration with cava, diploma presentation, snacks, and return to the take-off area.
9. Globos Boreal includes, at no additional cost, a complimentary photo report during the activity. The pilot’s primary responsibility is flight operation and safety; therefore, photos and videos are taken in an amateur manner, with no guarantee of quality or specific framing.
10. In accordance with aviation regulations, Globos Boreal must receive the full name and weight of each passenger prior to the flight. Passengers with higher body weight must inform the company in advance to ensure proper load distribution. In exceptional cases where a passenger’s weight significantly exceeds the balloon’s operational limits, organizational conditions or additional costs may apply, always with prior notice to the passenger.
11. Pregnant women and individuals with bone-related or similar medical conditions must not fly. Each passenger is responsible for ensuring they are physically fit to participate. Globos Boreal shall not be liable for injuries arising from pre-existing medical conditions or illnesses.
12. Globos Boreal is authorized by AESA (Spanish Aviation Safety Agency) to operate hot air balloon rides and is responsible for piloting, installation, and transportation of all equipment required for the flight.
13. Globos Boreal will contact passengers the day before the scheduled flight to confirm or cancel it based on the weather forecast. If the flight cannot take place due to adverse weather conditions, a new date will be arranged by mutual agreement. In this case, there will be no financial compensation, only the right to reschedule the flight (or refunded if agreed in writing prior payment).
14. Hot air balloon rides are entirely dependent on weather conditions. Flights may be cancelled due to rain, fog, wind, thermal currents, or other adverse conditions. The decision to fly or not lies solely with the pilot, who must not be pressured under any circumstances. Weather forecasting is not an exact science; therefore, if the pilot determines at the take-off site that conditions are unsuitable, the flight will be cancelled and rescheduled, without financial compensation.
15. Hot air balloons are not steerable aircraft and move according to wind direction. For this reason, specific routes or guaranteed views cannot be assured.
16. For safety reasons and in accordance with aviation regulations, it is strictly prohibited to carry any type of dangerous goods on board, including—but not limited to—the following: fireworks, flares, detonators, fuses, dynamite, ammunition, pyrotechnic material, aerosols, personal defense sprays, camping gas, fire extinguishers, cryogenic liquids, gas or refrigerant cylinders, fuel, adhesives, solvents, paint, varnish, torches, lighters or lighter refills, substances that emit flammable gases upon contact with water, oxidizing agents, organic peroxides, and substances liable to spontaneous combustion such as matches.
17. Passengers must follow the pilot’s instructions at all times, especially during take-off, flight, and landing.
18. The pilot reserves the right to refuse boarding to any passenger who may jeopardize the safety of the flight, the crew, or other passengers.
19. Globos Boreal holds the mandatory passenger and third-party insurance, in accordance with applicable European aviation regulations (Articles 6 and 7 of Regulation (EC) No. 785/2004).
20. The passenger agrees to receive offers, news, and promotional communications from Globos Boreal related to its activities. The passenger may unsubscribe at any time if desired.
21. Booking a flight implies full acceptance of these general terms and conditions.
